Rattle your dags vertical challenge

Well, what a historic day in the relatively short history of the Speedplay Coaching Rattle your Dags Vertical Challenge. A very very special guest race starter.... none other than Percy Barrett, out of Greymouth, the 1977 New Zealand Merino Shearing Champion. 🐑🐑🐑🐏🐏🏆 A legend in Australia, lesser known here, let's change that folks.

So, with the good old rattle of stones in the milk bottle and a voice that would send any sheep dog in the right direction, the troops ran strongly and bravely up the leg and lung busting Tamaki Steps...in a socially distanced time trial fashion... inducing post race coughs... as fashionable as crocs these days.

And how appropriate, that Percy's grandaughter Grace, took the win, and therefore the sheep trophy, in a very speedy 3:07. Congratulations Grace! As with every Rattle Your Dags, there is some controversy (if there's none I'll create it), with Percy claiming a self-timed 3:06 on his jaunt up the steps, but Grace bribed the judicial committee sufficiently for this result to be null and void.

Second equal going to Lisa Ann Wilson from the lush pastures of Ngatimoti, and multiple sheep trophy winner Anthea Lees of Nelson.

Maria Voigt of course did it three times, not once, getting faster with each one. Special mention to TC, Andrea Livingston and Anthea for also posting multiple efforts.

Round five....I actually have no idea. Possibly Pinchgut Track, Mt Robert...because the St Arnaud lodge does very good pizza 🍕
